About the Presenter
Laurie Gerber has worked in the field of machine translation since 1986. Her career has included system development (Systran), research (USC Information Sciences Institute), business development (Language Weaver), and business development and technology (Syntes Language Group).
She has been a member of ATA since 1989 and was certified in Japanese into English in 1991. Laurie is also a member of the Association for Machine Translation in the Americas (AMTA) and a past president of both AMTA and its parent association, the International Association for Machine Translation (IAMT).
Laurie holds master’s degrees in East Asian Studies (Yale 1982) and Computational Linguistics (University of Southern California 2001).
